It was announced on May 10, 2012 that director Daniel Adams had received a sentence of three years in prison after pleading guilty to tax fraud. The charges brought against the director carried a collective 32 years of possible prison time. Adams had already spent time in jail after being unable to make bail.
The saga began during late 2011 when Adams was charged with purposely reporting highly inflated costs on two of his movies in order to receive tax credits. During April of 2012, Adams changed his plea from not-guilty to guilty.
Richard Dreyfuss is an American actor who was born in Brooklyn, New York in 1947. He is one of the most prolific actors of his generation, having appeared in over 100 films and television programs, in addition to The Lightkeepers, in his almost 60-year career. Dreyfuss played in a number of smaller television roles before the 1970s began to see the rise of his great career. Later in the 1970s, Dreyfuss teamed up with Steven Speilberg to star in Jaws, a movie about a killer shark running rampant on a small fishing community and Close Encounters of the Third Kind, a film about a man’s obsession to prove that he has had an experience with an alien race. Dreyfuss’ starring in two of the biggest movies of the decade forever cemented his legacy as a top Hollywood actor. He rounded out his incredible decade by starring opposite Marsha Mason in The Goodbye Girl. His spot-on portrayal of a struggling actor who takes in a single mother garnered him an Oscar for Best Actor in a Leading Role.
Dreyfuss has continued to star in memorable roles, including Down and Out in Beverly Hills, Tin Men, Stakeout, What About Bob, The American President, and Mr. Holland’s Opus, including his memorable part as Seth in The Lightkeepers. Dreyfuss was the narrator for the 1986 film Stand by Me.
